Chapter 26 of 50
Bullet Comments
When Ying Huai woke again, it was a dull ache in his stomach that dragged him back to consciousness.
The epigastric region felt like a blunt knife being thrust back and forth. Ying Huai had no time to react before he suddenly lunged to the bedside, unable to stop himself from dry heaving.
But he hadn't eaten anything since the night before. After retching for a long while, nothing came up; instead, his heart was pounding from the effort.
Ying Huai felt his arms go weak in waves. His body swayed, and just as he was about to topple over, someone suddenly caught him.
Liang Shining patted his back gently. After a moment, he heard the person in his arms laugh softly.
"What's funny?" Liang Shining brought over a cup of warm water and spoke quietly.
Ying Huai took a sip and shook his head with a smile.
He was still overcome by waves of weakness. After leaning there for a while, he finally spoke slowly: "Where's my brother..."
"Your brother's downstairs," Song Si Lan said, walking in with several bottles of IV fluid. He glanced at the cardiac monitor beside the bed. "Alright, the fever's finally come down. Is your head still dizzy?"
Ying Huai hesitated, just about to shake his head, when he saw Song Si Lan turn his head away directly: "Still dizzy."
Ying Huai laughed despite himself.
He turned his head and coughed lightly, looked around the room, and spoke thoughtfully: "Where am I right now?"
"At my parents' house. You suddenly fainted just now, and my home was closest to the venue, so we came here first."
Liang Shining helped him sit back up against the headboard, watching as Ying Huai took a light breath and pressed a hand to his chest.
His voice grew a touch heavier: "Is your heart uncomfortable?"
Ying Huai's face was a little pale. He shook his head slightly: "No..."
"No? With his heart rate that erratic, you think he could be comfortable?" Song Si Lan, beside them, once again exposed him without hesitation.
"Do you have any idea how dangerous a fever is for a heart patient?" Song Si Lan turned around, speaking through gritted teeth. "You just got well in the Hospital, and now you want to go back, is that it, Ying Huai?"
"I didn't," Ying Huai caught his breath, looked up with a smile. "I was wrong, Doctor Song."
As the saying goes, one doesn't strike a smiling face. The lecture on the tip of Song Si Lan's tongue was instantly swallowed back.
He clenched his teeth, then let out a cold laugh of his own: "Wrong this time, but you'll dare do it again next time, right?"
Ying Huai smiled, his eyes curving, neither confirming nor denying.
Song Si Lan clenched his teeth, then suddenly asked: "Have you been taking any medication recently?"
Ying Huai was briefly startled.
He shook his head, still smiling: "No, just the ones you prescribed me last time."
Song Si Lan frowned: "Then have you had any sudden drowsiness or lethargy recently?"
Ying Huai's hand at his side trembled slightly.
He touched the Hongyu Jewel Pendant at the end of his hair and shook his head again: "No."
Song Si Lan took a deep breath and suddenly said: "Sorry, Teacher Liang, could you step out for a moment?"
Liang Shining frowned, but seeing Song Si Lan's slightly grave expression, he slowly stood up after all.
Ying Huai raised an eyebrow. He watched Liang Shining slowly close the door, finding the scene rather familiar.
The next second, he heard, as expected, Song Si Lan speak in a low voice: "Now you can tell the truth, Ying Huai."
Ying Huai slowly turned his head.
This hospitalization had made him noticeably thinner again. Now, with no strength in his body, he was almost sunken into the bedding, as if he might dissolve at any moment.
But his voice was, as always, casual and unhurried: "Didn't I already answer all of Doctor Song's questions just now? What else does Doctor Song want to hear?"
Song Si Lan took a deep breath.
Ying Huai was not quite the same as the patients Song Si Lan had dealt with before.
He would always admit his mistakes, but when it came to specific details, he would smile and say nothing.
Song Si Lan snorted and got straight to the point: "I need to know whether you've been taking any medication related to psychiatric treatment."
The room fell silent for a moment. Ying Huai's hand, which had been rubbing the edge of the blanket, paused slightly.
The next second, he raised his eyes and laughed directly: "No."
"I only fainted this time because of the fever, Doctor Song," Ying Huai said helplessly with a soft sigh. "You don't need to overthink it."
Song Si Lan stared intently at the person before him: "Then why did you suddenly get a fever?"
Ying Huai answered with a smile, offhandedly: "Caught a chill when I went out, caught a cold when I got home, too much psychological pressure..."
"Pressure? Why would you be under pressure?" Song Si Lan suddenly cut Ying Huai off.
"Liang Shining said just now that you went to the Lu Family Heir Announcement to find Ying Qi."
Song Si Lan leaned forward slightly, speaking word by word: "Ying Qi is your older brother. Why would finding Ying Qi make you feel pressured?"
The smile at the corner of Ying Huai's lips faded little by little.
He lowered his eyes and was quiet for a few seconds, then suddenly laughed again: "Did you used to study psychology, Doctor Song?"
"No," Song Si Lan said expressionlessly. "I just treated another patient who was just as much of a handful as you."
Ying Huai was momentarily speechless.
—He was actually a little curious about who that patient was.
"Doctor Song, when I was in the Hospital, didn't I cooperate with treatment and take my medicine properly?" Ying Huai suddenly said.
He kept his head lowered, the loose strands of hair at his forehead covering his eyes. Song Si Lan couldn't see his expression.
Song Si Lan frowned slightly and gave a small nod.
"I'll cooperate seriously with anything related to treatment, but things unrelated to treatment—Doctor Song doesn't need to ask more, does he?" Ying Huai raised his head, his peach blossom eyes glinting slightly.
He curved his lips lightly: "Wouldn't it be good to lighten Doctor Song's burden a little?"
Song Si Lan nearly fainted from anger: "Fine, fine, I won't bother with you. Next time you're dying, don't call me over."
Ying Huai touched the Hongyu Jewel Pendant at the end of his hair, still smiling: "Okay."
Song Si Lan's expression looked like he very much wanted to curse.
But in the end, looking at the pallor on the face of the person in bed, he could only viciously add another dose of bitter medicine in his heart.
"If you're uncomfortable, keep sleeping. Don't force yourself to stay awake here." Song Si Lan turned to adjust the IV drip speed for Ying Huai, speaking expressionlessly.
Ying Huai's heart was weak; for a long time after waking, he would always feel dizzy and weak. Today, for some reason, even after so long, it still hadn't eased.
His gaze was a little unfocused, but he didn't want Song Si Lan to notice anything off. He propped himself up slightly and said with a smile: "Doctor Song really didn't study..."
"Shut up," Song Si Lan cut him off expressionlessly. "Don't push me to prescribe you sleeping pills."
The moment his words fell, he saw the person on the bed, dizzy even while sitting, turn his head again: "Okay."
Song Si Lan: .......
He took a deep breath, saw that the bottle in front of him had just finished dripping, and quickly switched in a bottle with sleep-inducing effects.
Ying Huai had been forcing himself to stay alert. Now, under the effect of the medication, he finally quieted down after a short while.
His consciousness rose and fell. He felt Song Si Lan turn off the lights, walk step by step to the door, and suddenly say quietly: "You can't keep refusing everyone, Ying Huai."
"You have to try, to trust others again."
Ying Huai's body trembled slightly.
His lips moved faintly, his mind seeming to want to say something, but the next second, he slipped directly into a deep, sweet dream.
·
Ying Huai slept unusually deeply this time.
By the time he woke again, it was already the next morning.
Song Si Lan's medicine seemed to have actually worked to some extent. Ying Huai propped himself up on the bed and slowly sat up, feeling that his chest was, for once, not as constricted as before.
On the bedside table, a set of loungewear had been specially prepared. Ying Huai stared at it for a few seconds, his hand slowly reaching out to brush over it, but he did not put it on.
The next moment, Liang Shining's voice suddenly came from behind: "Awake?"
Ying Huai quickly pulled his hand away from the clothes and came back to himself.
Liang Shining glanced at him, naturally reached out to feel his forehead, and handed over a cup of warm water. "Change into these. It's cold downstairs."
Ying Huai had already grown quite accustomed to Liang Shining's series of gestures.
He took the warm water, sipped it, and said with a casual smile: "Where are the clothes I was wearing?"
"You want to wear a suit at home?" Liang Shining didn't answer, looking up at him.
Ying Huai also laughed: "I'll head home once I've changed. No need to trouble Teacher Liang..."
"Song Si Lan said you just broke your fever and can't go out in the wind." Liang Shining slowly cut him off.
He seemed to anticipate what Ying Huai was about to say, and cut him off one step ahead: "Ying Qi also agreed to let you stay another night here. He's already gone back."
The moment his words fell, he hadn't expected the person before him to freeze, instantly tensing up: "Where did my brother go—"
"Ying Qi went back to the company. He messaged me about it just now."
Liang Shining held down the person who was trying to get up and leave, frowning: "What's wrong, Ying Huai?"
Ying Huai stumbled a step, steadying himself by gripping Liang Shining's arm.
He finally came to his senses at this point, his body instantly relaxing. He stepped back and sat down on the edge of the bed again.
"I'm fine," Ying Huai shook his head and laughed lightly. "I was just...asking casually."
Liang Shining seemed to think of something, his expression sinking slightly, but in the end he didn't press further.
"Change your clothes first. Breakfast is downstairs. I'll take you down in a bit."
Ying Huai glanced at the loungewear beside him.
He blinked, then suddenly laughed: "Teacher Liang is in such a rush to get me to change—do you want to do it together?"
He leaned forward slightly, his neck tilting up, approaching Liang Shining with a half-smile.
"If Teacher Liang is with me...then I'll change."
Ying Huai knew Liang Shining was thin-skinned and couldn't take being teased.
He waited for Liang Shining to flush red and scold him for being shameless, then turn around and leave.
Ying Huai sat on the edge of the bed, watching Liang Shining's expression stiffen just as he had predicted.
The next moment, he heard Liang Shining say a few words, and his peach blossom eyes curved at once.
'Then I'll just wear my own clothes, Mr. Liang—huh?' Ying Huai said halfway, suddenly realizing something was off.
He abruptly raised his head: 'What did you just say?'
'I said, alright.' Liang Shining looked down at Ying Huai.
He spoke unhurriedly: 'But I've already changed. I can, however, watch you change.'
The moment his words fell, he watched Ying Huai's ears flush red at once: 'No need.'
Liang Shining curved his lips.
He turned toward the door, then suddenly seemed to think of something and turned back sharply.
'The clothes are new. My mother specifically picked them out for you,' Liang Shining's voice was calm. 'She offered on her own once she knew you were coming, so you don't need to feel like a burden.'
Ying Huai, still trying to locate his own clothes, paused slightly.
An indescribable feeling rose in his chest, and Ying Huai slowly drew his hand back.
'Alright,' Ying Huai closed his eyes briefly, his peach blossom eyes slightly curved. 'Thank Auntie for me.'
·
Liang Father and Liang Mu's home was in a villa district, four stories in all.
Ying Huai changed and followed Liang Shining downstairs, but for some reason his vision suddenly went dark again.
Ying Huai's hand grasped at the air. He reached out to steady himself against the staircase, but somehow missed.
His heart lurched for a moment, and the next second, his body was firmly supported.
'Ying Huai?' Liang Shining steadied him, speaking with some concern. 'Are you alright?'
Ying Huai's vision was still a dark haze.
Unwilling to let Liang Shining notice anything wrong, he drew a quiet breath and suddenly smiled: 'How do you always manage to catch me, Liang Shining?'
Liang Shining froze. 'What?'
The moment the words left his mouth, he finally realized belatedly—this was the reason Ying Huai had smiled inexplicably when he first woke up yesterday.
An unconscious trace of a smile appeared at Liang Shining's lips, and Ying Huai beside him finally began to improve.
The black fog before his eyes was finally fading bit by bit. Ying Huai pressed his brow and gave his head a small shake.
That black fog came quickly and left quickly, unlike ordinary dizziness, but it somehow made him think of... the feeling of nearly dying in his previous life.
Ying Huai forcefully pressed down the unease in his heart, smiled and shook his head: 'I'm fine. Just walked too fast and missed a step.'
He subtly freed himself from Liang Shining's support and smiled: 'Let's hurry down, don't keep Uncle and Auntie waiting.'
Liang Shining frowned, then fell half a step behind and followed Ying Huai down.
·
Liang Mu was also home today, which was rare.
Though she came from a family of calligraphy and painting, she had a decisive, swift temperament.
Now she sat across from Ying Huai, smiling as she stared at him, the warmth in her eyes nearly overflowing.
'Eat more, why are you so thin?' Liang Mu gazed at Ying Huai, speaking with heartache. 'Xiao Ning said your health isn't good—are you still feeling unwell?'
Ying Huai's expression was somehow inexplicably at a loss.
He set down his bowl and chopsticks, his peach blossom eyes slightly curved, and smiled, shaking his head: 'I'm fine, Auntie.'
He paused, then seemed to think of something, and raised his head again with a smile: 'Your cooking is delicious. It's been a long time since I've eaten this much.'
Liang Mu was nearly melted by Ying Huai's obedient appearance.
'Oh, oh, as long as you like it, eat more if you like it.' Liang Mu glared at the two silent people beside her who only knew how to bury their heads in their food, then turned back to Ying Huai with a smile.
The inexplicably despised Liang Father froze, and a trace of helplessness also appeared at Liang Shining's lips.
'But how did you know it was me who made it?' Liang Mu asked curiously.
Ying Huai's expression paused.
But when he raised his head again, his usual smile had returned: 'This porridge method requires getting up long in advance and simmering slowly over low heat. Breakfast shops outside or the family's helpers generally wouldn't make it this carefully.'
Liang Mu was somewhat surprised.
Although she herself loved cooking and researching cuisine, she was usually too busy and could only change things up for the two at home when she had spare time.
The Ying Family's situation was similar to theirs, so logically Ying Huai, a child, shouldn't need to cook for himself.
But Ying Huai's reaction seemed very practiced.
Liang Mu hesitated, wanting to ask, but saw Ying Huai seemed to anticipate what she was going to say and spoke first with a light smile: 'My stomach isn't good. Anything bought outside or casually made by others makes me uncomfortable, so I usually cook for myself.'
Liang Mu breathed a sigh of relief, instantly more heartache: 'In that case, eat more. Whatever you want to eat in the future, Auntie will make it for you.'
Ying Huai was only a little shorter than Liang Shining. Liang Mu had bought the loungewear based on Liang Shining's height, but unexpectedly it hung loosely on Ying Huai, as if a full size too big.
—But the effect was still not bad.
Liang Mu looked with satisfaction at the two across from her in their loungewear, a smile unconsciously surfacing in her eyes.
Ying Huai always felt Liang Mu's expression as she looked at them was somewhat strange.
But he didn't dare ask more, only responded with a smile and lowered his eyes again.
His hand, which he had set down, hesitated, then picked the bowl back up.
But the next second, Ying Huai's hand suddenly went empty.
Then Liang Shining beside him spoke in a low voice: 'Mom, his heart isn't good. If he eats too much, his heart can't take it.'
Ying Huai's expression stiffened for a moment, and he reached out to take the bowl back.
'It's fine, I'm alright now...'
'Oh, oh, then don't eat any more if you're full.'
Before Ying Huai finished speaking, Liang Mu spoke first, anxious: 'I'm sorry, I didn't know about this. You don't need to mind what I just said—just eat what you can.'
Ying Huai's hand at his side suddenly clenched.
He closed his eyes briefly and smiled gently: 'You don't need to apologize, Auntie.'
Ying Huai raised his head, his peach blossom eyes slightly curved, the usually upturned corners of his eyes inexplicably reddening: 'Thank you for breakfast.'
Liang Shining took him to the living room to rest. Liang Mu watched their retreating backs, her expression moved.
'Xiao Huai is really so well-behaved,' Liang Mu said softly. 'Xiao Ning always told me he's the free and easygoing type, but today it seems a bit different.'
Liang Father kept his head buried in his porridge, slurping as he spoke: 'Probably because he's been cyberbullied online for too long.'
Liang Mu thought of some things Liang Father had told her yesterday and sighed: 'You said before that so many people online were bullying him. I didn't believe it, but now I somewhat do—though I still don't understand.'
'You say Xiao Huai is so well-behaved, and the Ying Family is big and powerful. Does Ying Father really not care about Xiao Huai at all?'
'Ying Father seemed to have directly announced cutting ties with Ying Huai back then. Very heartless.' Liang Father finished a bowl of porridge, then reached for another.
'But that's still his own child.' Liang Mu sighed.
She glanced at Liang Father slurping his porridge beside her, and finally couldn't help nudging him twice with her elbow: 'Aren't you worried at all?'
'I'm not worried. With Xiao Ning looking after him from now on, and us watching anytime, what could happen?' Liang Father raised his head, baffled. 'This drowning incident—didn't Xiao Ning bring his own lawyer over?'
Liang Mu also relaxed slightly.
But she immediately thought of something again and once more slapped Liang Father: 'Then can't you think of how to make Xiao Huai our daughter-in-law?'
Liang Father nearly spat out his porridge from the slap.
He dared to be angry but not speak, gritted his teeth and swallowed the porridge, speaking in a low voice: 'What can I do.'
'That's our own son who doesn't fight for himself.'
·
Because the Variety Show had stopped broadcasting, the Director worried the show's popularity would drop, and required all of them today to do a livestream voice chat and interact with viewers.
Ying Huai originally wanted to find his own camera, but Liang Shining absolutely refused, and finally said outright there were no extra cameras at home.
'But I clearly just saw Uncle's study—' Ying Huai didn't quite believe it, said suspiciously.
'That's for my dad to use later,' Liang Shining said firmly. 'This is the only extra one at home. You can only share one with me.'
Ying Huai was dubious, but this was someone else's home after all, so he could only helplessly accept.
He had originally prayed the livestream comments wouldn't pay attention to this, but unexpectedly the moment they came on, the comments immediately started flooding.
[!! Am I seeing wrong? Are Xiao Huai and Liang-ge broadcasting together?]
[You're not seeing wrong! Together! And it seems to be... at Liang-ge's home?]
[Oh my god, what does this mean? Aren't these two rivals? Something going on?]
[Although I don't want to believe it, Ying Huai and Liang-ge's clothes look so familiar—seems like I've seen them somewhere... (thinking)]
[What could be going on? At most it's the company requiring it. Liang-ge must be forced! Damn, another day of the company being terrible.]
Just as this comment was sent, Liang Shining suddenly spoke: 'I invited Teacher Ying to my home.'
Ying Huai raised his head, somewhat surprised, and heard Liang Shining speak slowly, word by word: 'I actively invited him.'
The comments instantly erupted.
[Wow, is Teacher Liang protecting Xiao Huai? Right, right?]
[Must have seen that comment just now and said this! Ughhh, why is it a bit indulgent?]
[Help, can you not look for sweet moments everywhere? Shippers get away from me.]
Xin Wan on the other side of the camera finally couldn't take it anymore: 'Little shidi, are you really at Liang Shining's home?'
He narrowed his eyes, suddenly leaned close to the camera, and said through gritted teeth: 'Why are you with him?'
Ying Huai sat lazily in a slightly further back position, casually playing with a cat pillow from who knows where, not really looking at the screen.
Now seeing Xin Wan's large face suddenly lean up, he was nearly startled.
'Why is shixiong suddenly this close?' Ying Huai breathed a sigh of relief, said lazily. 'Why does shixiong care where I am? It's not at your home anyway.'
Xin Wan gritted his teeth and continued: 'Why are you with Liang Shining?'
Ying Huai yawned, lowered his eyes, and said casually: 'An accident.'
Xin Wan choked.
He continued unwillingly: "Little shixiong, were you threatened by Liang Shining? Tell me—"
Ying Huai was instantly caught between laughter and tears. He glanced up at Xin Wan: "No, but if you keep leaning that close to the camera, I really will feel threatened."
Xin Wan gritted his teeth, but still sat back down huffily.
He stared at Ying Huai, suddenly asking suspiciously: "Why aren't you looking at the screen, little shixiong?"
Ying Huai tugged at the ears of the cat pillow one by one, replying casually: "You're too close to the screen, looking at you is an eyesore."
Xin Wan's expression stiffened for a moment, then he leaned back a bit more.
He was about to say something more when he suddenly heard Lu Jing speak in a low voice: "Is it because of the bullet comments?"
Ying Huai's movements paused. Xin Wan froze for a moment, then instantly gritted his teeth: "What bullet comments? Are they cursing little shixiong?"
He turned to look at the bullet comment column beside him, and in just a few seconds, saw several hateful comments scroll past.
Xin Wan was already in a bad mood, and without hesitation, he fired back at each one.
[Wow, our Brother Xin—mighty!]
[So Xin Wan really is Ying Huai's fan, I thought the previous follow was accidental.]
[Although, is it really appropriate for an artist to argue with netizens here?]
[? If you don't want to be argued with, keep your mouth clean. Brother Xin just repeated your words verbatim, he didn't even curse when arguing with you.]
[So this is the satisfaction of cursing without using profanity, I get it now.]
[Hahaha dying, Brother Xin isn't even in the entertainment industry, don't try to build a persona for our Brother Xin here, our Brother Xin does whatever he wants.]
But the Director clearly didn't think so.
"Teacher Xin, this is a Variety Show livestream, let's talk about things related to the show. If you have any issues, please contact the Director team privately, alright?"
Xin Wan, who was in the middle of enthusiastically arguing back, choked.
He squinted at the Director for a few seconds, then suddenly smiled: "Alright."
Xin Wan said as he pulled out his phone.
Immediately after, the bullet comments noticed that "Swear Brother," who hadn't been online for a long time, suddenly reappeared in the livestream.
—And precisely appeared under every hateful comment.
[Ying Huai is disgusting, throwing himself at Liang Shining, and who knows what methods he used to bewitch Xin Wan and Lu Jing.]
[Swear Brother: You're disgusting too, look at your features, each one grows independently and none of them agree with each other]
[What, Ying Huai was whitewashed this quickly? Has everyone forgotten about him mysteriously jumping companies, quitting shows, and suppressing juniors who followed the unspoken rules?]
[Swear Brother: If you have evidence, present it. Let's go eat fish together when we're free, you seem pretty good at picking bones.]
[Ying Huai isn't really with Brother Shining, is he? Waaah, can you leave our Brother Shining alone?]
[Swear Brother: Who said Ying Huai and Liang Shining are together! Don't you know what 'don't believe or spread rumors' means?]
Some netizens who really couldn't win the argument were nearly breaking down.
[What are you doing here, Swear Brother? Ying Huai is already livestreaming with Liang Shining, if you have the guts, go over there too?]
[Swear Brother: !! Who said I can't go over!]
The next second, in the livestream, Xin Wan suddenly cut off his camera.
Immediately after, Lu Jing's phone suddenly rang.
Lu Jing lowered his eyes to look at the name "Xin Wan" on his phone screen, his eyebrow twitching.
He took a deep breath, gritted his teeth, and answered the call: "What are you doing?"
"Where is Liang Shining's home?" Xin Wan said in a low voice.
Lu Jing's eyebrow twitched, and he quickly turned off his microphone too.
"Why are you asking this?"
"I'm going over to find little shixiong," Xin Wan gritted his teeth, "Why does Liang Shining get to livestream with little shixiong?"
Lu Jing frowned: "Then go ask Liang Shining, I don't know his home......"
"Stop pretending. When you saw little shixiong with Liang Shining just now, your expression didn't show any surprise at all." Xin Wan scoffed.
"You already knew they were together."
Lu Jing's expression instantly stiffened.
"Last night at the Lu Family Heir Announcement, little shixiong and Liang Shining both went, right?" Xin Wan said in a low voice.
"That's when little shixiong went to Liang Shining's home, right?"
Lu Jing was silent for a few seconds: "Yes."
"Damn, little shixiong really slept at Liang Shining's home for a whole night." Xin Wan couldn't help cursing.
"Aren't you worried about what might happen to little shixiong at Liang Shining's home? Are you willing to just watch Liang Shining continue being alone with little shixiong?" Xin Wan sneered.
Lu Jing's hand at his side slowly clenched, listening to Xin Wan's teasing voice come through the phone.
"Stop pretending, Lu-shixiong, I don't believe you're this kind of gentleman—"
"I'll tell you." Lu Jing suddenly spoke, cutting him off.
He took a deep breath, gave an address, and heard Xin Wan on the other end laugh satisfactorily.
"Then see you in a bit, Lu-shixiong."
·
On the other side, Ying Huai looked at the two screens that had inexplicably gone black across from him, his expression puzzled.
"Where did Xin Wan and Lu Jing go?" Ying Huai leaned forward, asking curiously, "Did they both go offline?"
"They said the signal was bad, they're going to livestream from somewhere else, they'll be back in a bit." The Director explained.
Ying Huai narrowed his eyes.
When he leaned over just now, he had subconsciously glanced at the bullet comments, and was surprised to find that the hateful comments that once filled the screen had somehow decreased significantly.
At the same time, a netizen named "Swear Brother" was actively arguing back under every hateful comment.
Ying Huai raised his eyebrows, looking somewhat surprised.
"Who is this 'Swear Brother'?" Ying Huai propped up his chin, his expression touched, "Strong fighting power."
[Don't know—but they should be your fan, Huai Huai!]
[Right right, he's super protective of you, definitely your fan!]
Ying Huai froze for a moment, seemingly not expecting the bullet comments to say that.
He straightened up slightly, casually repeating those words: "My fan?"
Several lines of text instantly popped up on the bullet comments.
[Right right, your fan, Huai Huai!]
[We're all your fans! Teacher Xiao Huai! Super looking forward to your new song!]
A subtle, ambiguous expression flashed through Ying Huai's peach blossom eyes.
He stared at the screen for a few seconds, and finally couldn't help but curve his eyes: "Alright."
Ying Huai laughed lightly, slowly repeating those words by his lips: "My fan."
He had just opened his mouth to say something when he suddenly heard a soft knock at the door.
"Xiao Ning, nothing much today, I'm taking your mom out to play, take good care of Xiao Huai, don't bully him." Liang Father stood at the door and mouthed the words.
Liang Shining nodded, but the next second, he felt the person beside him suddenly sit up straight.
"That camera—" Ying Huai turned his head, narrowing his eyes, "Didn't you just say it was useful?"
Liang Shining's expression instantly stiffened.
Liang Father across from them didn't understand what they were saying, turned to look at Ying Huai again: "If Xiao Huai needs anything, just tell Xiao Ning, don't be polite."
Ying Huai glanced at Liang Shining, the corners of his lips curving meaningfully: "Don't worry, Uncle, I will."
Liang Father was satisfied just looking at Ying Huai.
He nodded contentedly, then glared at Liang Shining with a frustrated look that said 'when will you ever amount to something': "Alright, I'm leaving now—oh right, a friend is coming to see you guys, I let him in."
Ying Huai froze, Liang Shining frowned and raised his head: "What friend......"
Before he could finish, a teasing voice came over: "Little shixiong, long time no see."
Xin Wan, head down typing, slowly walked into the room.
Ying Huai was stunned, and the livestream's bullet comments instantly went blank too.
[Hey hey, how did Xin Wan also get to Liang Shining's place?]
[He only said he was going to livestream from somewhere else just now, he didn't say he was coming to Liang Shining's home to livestream?]
[He came to find Ying Huai, right? (holding pot lid as shield) (but certain) (hurriedly fleeing)]
[Wait, didn't Swear Brother just say he was going over too......]
[I have a bold guess, Swear Brother wouldn't be—Xin Wan, right?]
[No way? Swear Brother is Xin Wan?]
Ying Huai looked at the bullet comments, his expression pausing slightly.
He clicked into this "Swear Brother's" profile page, scrolled through his past bullet comments, and slightly raised his eyebrows.
"Shixiong?"
Xin Wan gave a vague response, still typing rapidly on his phone.
The next second, he heard Ying Huai speak unhurriedly again: "Swear Brother?"
Xin Wan instinctively "mm"ed, but the next second, suddenly realized something was off.
Xin Wan, who had been focused on fighting the haters with his head down, instantly stiffened.
He raised his head in disbelief, meeting Ying Huai's expression that was somewhere between a smile and not.
