Copyright & DMCA policy

The Red Thread Press respects the rights of authors and copyright holders. We respond to clear notices of alleged infringement that comply with the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). If you believe material on this site infringes a copyright you own or represent, you can ask us to remove it using the process below, and we will act promptly on valid requests.

Filing a takedown notice

Send a written notice to our designated agent at dmca@theredthreadpress.com. To be effective under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), your notice must include all of the following:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
  3. Identification of the material you claim is infringing, with enough detail for us to locate it — ideally the exact page URL(s) on this site.
  4. Your contact information: full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the disputed use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.

Once we receive a complete notice, we will remove or disable access to the identified material and make a reasonable effort to notify the affected contributor. Knowingly making a material misrepresentation in a takedown notice may expose you to liability for damages under § 512(f).

Counter-notification

If you believe material was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to dmca@theredthreadpress.com. Under § 512(g)(3) it must include:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal.
  3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, address, and telephone number, a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the U.S. Federal District Court for your district (or, if you are outside the United States, any district in which we may be found), and a statement that you will accept service of process from the party who filed the original notice.
