The Red Thread Press keeps data collection to what's needed to run the site and, with your consent, to understand usage and show ads that keep the library free. This page explains what we collect, who processes it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Account data — if you sign in, your email and the profile from any social login you choose. Authentication is handled in-house and your session is a first-party cookie.
- Content you submit — comments and likes you post, stored with your account.
- Analytics — with your consent, privacy-friendly, cookieless aggregate usage stats via a self-hosted Umami instance. No cross-site tracking and no sale of data.
- Advertising — with your consent, Google AdSense may set cookies and process data to show and measure ads. See Google's partner policies.
- Server logs — standard request metadata (IP, user agent) retained briefly for security and abuse prevention.
Cookies & consent
Essential cookies (your session and your cookie choice) are always set — the
site can't function without them. Analytics and advertising are loaded only
after you choose “Accept all” in the consent banner; choose “Only essential”
and no analytics or ad code runs. You can change your mind by clearing the
rtp-consent cookie, which brings the banner back.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to withdraw consent. You can delete your account and associated personal data from your account settings, or by contacting us. To exercise any right, email privacy@theredthreadpress.com and we'll respond within a reasonable time.
Data retention
We keep account and content data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data except where we must retain limited records to meet legal obligations.
Children
The site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
